Facts Regarding Cost of Switching to Electric Leaf Blowers

The Township of Lower Merion is considering an ordinance that would phase out the use of gas-powered leaf blowers emerged as a point of discussion. In order to inform the commissioners, I prepared an analysis on the price of lawn services in those communities that have already banned gas powered leaf blowers. 

The results of my investigations are reassuring. The data show no pattern of significantly higher prices for lawn services in communities that have banned gas powered leaf blowers. Data were compiled on Montclair NJ, Maplewood NJ, White Plains NY, and Montgomery County MD (zeroing in on Chevy Chase MD and Bethesda MD). The cost of residential lawn services in these communities that have already successfully banned gas powered leaf blowers is roughly the same (and sometimes lower) than comparable services in Bryn Mawr PA and Bala Cynwyd PA.
